The Child Center provides a safe, supportive environment for children who have experienced abuse. Understanding what happens during your visit can help ease anxiety for both you and your child. 


Your First Visit 


  • • You'll be greeted warmly at reception and assigned a case manager 
  • • The case manager will guide you through each step of the process 
  • • A comfortable waiting area with toys helps children feel at ease 
  • • All services are provided free of charge 

The Assessment Process 


  • • Your child may participate in an investigative interview with a specially trained professional 
  • • Parents wait in a separate area during the interview to ensure unbiased responses 
  • • A medical examination might be conducted by a pediatric specialist 
  • • The examination is gentle and as non-intrusive as possible 

Support Services 


  • • Mental health professionals provide therapy tailored to your child's needs 
  • • Therapists use child-friendly techniques to help children express and process emotions 
  • • Parents are involved in therapy as appropriate 
  • • Your case manager coordinates all services to ensure comprehensive care
